TAROM Airlines, also known as Romanian Air Transport, is a Romanian national air carrier that operates regular flights to all major European cities, as well as to Middle Eastern countries. Domestic flights are also carried out on a regular basis: Iasi, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Suceava, Oradea, Satu Mare and Bayere Mare. In 1966, the first transatlantic flight was made, and in 1969 a significant event occurred for the company - performing a round-the-world voyage belonging to the airline IL-18 plane in just 80 hours overcame a distance of 47,000 km. In 1974, the carrier’s first achievements were the first flight to Sydney, as well as the introduction of regular flights to Beijing and New York. In 1981, a new success was achieved - a direct flight was made over a distance of 10 thousand kilometers, from Bucharest to Bangkok. In the period from 1990 to 2010, the airline has significantly expanded its route network. In 2010, after the completion of the biennial integration process, TAROM became a full member of one of the largest international aviation alliances in the world Sky Team, which also includes 19 airlines from four continents. A special incentive program Flying Blue has been developed for regular customers, which opens access to the privileges and benefits of alliance airlines, restaurant chains, cinemas, beauty salons, SPA centers and car rental agencies.
The Romanian flagship has one of the newest parks in Europe, consisting of 25 modern long-range and medium-range planes of various models: Boeing, Airbus and produced by the Franco-Italian concern ATR.
