- Train and Subway: You can get to JFK using a combination of AirTrain JFK and the subway. The AirTrain connects the airport to subway stations in Queens, such as Jamaica Station (lines E, J, Z) and Howard Beach (line A).A subway ride costs approximately $2.90, while an AirTrain ride costs $8.25. Total fare: about $11-12.
- Bus: There are public buses, such as Q10 and B15, that connect the airport to different areas of Queens and Brooklyn. A bus ticket costs about $2.90 (standard NYC MTA fare).
- Taxi: Taxis are available at all terminals. The ride takes on average 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. A taxi ride from Manhattan to JFK costs a flat rate of $70-$80, plus taxes and tip.
- Car-hailing services (Uber, Lyft): These services are also available through their respective apps and are a convenient alternative to taxis. Prices vary depending on the time of day and demand, but average $60-$90.
- Private shuttle: There are companies that offer private or shared shuttles to the airport. Shared shuttle prices start at around $25-$40 per person, depending on the company.
